The Economic Development and Culture (EDC) Division at the City of Toronto works to advance Toronto's prosperity, opportunity, and liveability by fostering employment and investment opportunities, encouraging cultural vibrancy through enhanced cultural experiences, and engaging partners in planning and developing economic and cultural resources.
EDC's Museum & Heritage Services section operates 10 historic sites, including Toronto's Fort York National Historic Site and Spadina Museum. As Manager, Museums, you will provide strategic leadership, oversee the city's museum facilities, and work closely with the management team to support visitor experience, operations, programming, capital planning, and curatorial development. Your goal will be to ensure divisional priorities are met and diverse stories are shared through programming at these sites.
Reporting to the Director, Museums & Heritage Services, your responsibilities include planning annual work programs, developing revenue-generating initiatives (grants, sponsorships, fees), managing the budget, and ensuring expenditures stay within limits. You will oversee programs at various historic sites, ensuring they meet standards and are innovative and adaptable to changing needs.

You should also possess excellent interpersonal, negotiation skills, and knowledge of relevant legislation. Familiarity with MS Office 365 is essential.
