Manager Lab Operations Monday-Friday On-Call Rounding Under the general direction of the Administrative Director and in conjunction with the Medical Director, manages the day-to-day business and technical functions of the laboratory in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards. Complies with all criteria mandated by the appropriate accrediting and licensing agencies, when applicable. Focuses on the implementation of initiatives focused on enhanced financial performance and workflow redesign for efficiency. Fosters the development of a culture that emphasizes excellence in quality, delivery and continuous improvement of laboratory services. Manages operations, improvement initiatives and employee relations for front-line supervisors. Provides leadership and support of operations in the Pre-Analytic, Analytic, and Post-Analytic phases of the Laboratory Path of Workflow. In the absence of the Administrative Director, assumes administrative duties and responsibilities related to schedules, root cause anlaysis and safety huddles. Education - Bachelor of Science degree In Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry required. Master of Science or relevant Business degree is preferred. Experience - Minimum of 5 years laboratory experience and two years of supervisory experience are required, with additional technlcal/supervlsory experience preferred. Licensure/Certification - ASCP certification or equivalent nationally recognized as MT/MLS certification or categorical certification required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Strong knowledge of medical technology theory and practice. Demonstrated supervisory and management skills and good oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of regulatory requirements including: safety, CAP, JCAHO, state and federal guidelines.
