Mission of the Position:

The mission of this position is to effectively lead, guide and improve the reporting process for purchasing. The objective involves a wide range of responsibilities, including budget, forecast, KPIs, data analysis, and automation.This position plays a key role in aligning purchasing activities with corporate standards and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process improvements and automation for purchasing finance area (example; cost savings and spend)
  • Work with IT to implement new tools for purchasing finance area
  • Standardize cost savings process for all plants (tracking and reporting templates/tools)
  • Provide financial planning and analysis for cost savings and spend
  • Monitor actual results of financial data against forecast and budget
  • Responsible for purchasing cost savings and spend processes (forecast and budget)
  • In charge of consolidating and reporting Magna Powertrain monthly cost savings and spend numbers to Magna International
  • Monthly follow ups with plants on missing data and data accuracy
  • Responsible for accurate & timely reporting (yearly, quarterly, monthly)
  • Responsible for supplier risk management process and approvals (analysis, assessments, mitigation & reporting)
  • Responsible to report claims (inflation impact) for forecast and budget
  • Calculate annual global purchasing allocations
  • Lead and direct preparation of Global Purchasing expense budget
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Other ad hoc analysis as assigned
  • Follow Magna's Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field required; Masters' Degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the auto industry; experience in powertrain preferred
  • Experience in purchasing (cost savings, spend, risk management)
  • Analytical skills are required
  • Strong Excel, SAP and Power BI skills are a must
  • Understanding of data management (database management systems & connections)

  • Create a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.
