Leads an HR team and serves as the primary HR partner for one or more regional sites across multiple business units, divisions, or functions. Acquires a broad understanding of local business divisions to support people strategies, enable talent development, and improve retention at the local level. Manages employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compensation, and employee career development issues, requiring detailed knowledge of fundamental and advanced HR concepts and practices. Works with HR colleagues and local business leaders to provide responsive approaches and drive adoption of HR initiatives.

  • Develops and manages the performance of an HR team by setting accountabilities, establishing objectives, and providing career guidance and feedback.
  • Executes enterprise and business unit people strategies in collaboration with relevant HR functions and promotes adoption of HR initiatives locally.
  • Partners with local leaders to support business change, identify challenges, and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborates to promote a One HR Culture, Diversity & Inclusion, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Works with regional and site leaders to improve the employee experience locally and regionally.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to local and regional leaders on complex employee relations matters.
  • Uses broad local employment law knowledge to identify market conditions impacting talent attraction and retention, advising global HR on implications.
  • Connects local trends to global impacts and recommends appropriate actions.
  • Executes HR processes such as onboarding, salary planning, talent development, and performance management, leveraging workforce analytics.
  • Provides guidance on HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Supports audit, compliance, and other HR programs locally.
  • Identifies opportunities to develop or revise HR policies and procedures.
  • Develops and implements programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Supports key HR projects and manages HR budget and resources.
  • Adheres to the UL Code of Conduct and security practices.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications include a university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus at least ten years of professional HR experience, including experience as an HR Business Partner. Prior HR management experience is preferred. Candidates should possess excellent communication, presentation, and client service skills, with the ability to influence and manage relationships. Demonstrated proficiency in HR software, technical HR expertise, data analysis, and project management is required. Knowledge of labor law, market trends, and experience managing a sizable internal customer base are essential.
