The Role

The position of Brand Sales Support, Franchise Hotels, Sales will be deployed against new hotel openings and distressed properties seeking to gain market share, equal to or better than market results. Responsibilities include direct sales calls and implementing strategic action plans in the local market to demand generators, including all companies within a 7-mile radius of the assigned hotel. Success is measured by revenue achievement against plan, revenue from new accounts, overall new account acquisition, and maintaining property leadership after turnover.

What you'll do

Selling, Business Planning and Performance

  • Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to increase account revenue share and overall unit revenue growth.
  • Achieve revenue and rate targets for assigned segments.
  • Analyze customers' business, identify sales opportunities, and develop strategic plans with supporting tactics for revenue attainment.
  • Manage the customer decision and relationship process during ramp up week.
  • Identify customer requirements and expectations relative to the segment, including agency/membership organizations, actual traveler/end-user, and hotel.
  • Support corporate and departmental goals and contribute to enhancement of customer value.
  • Develop strategic plans to sell into the assigned segment using resources and segment data.
  • Partner with RM on pricing strategy according to Revenue Management guidelines.
  • Execute tactical sales processes that support the strategic plan.
  • Organize activities and resources to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Identify trends and opportunities within the segment using available resources.
  • Allocate sales resources to maximize revenue return and focus on the most profitable and best-fit customers.
  • Monitor progress toward objectives and communicate shortfalls to Operations Partners.

Account Management

  • Grow relationships at appropriate levels with end customers, channel partners, and third-party influences to enable sales initiatives.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions that satisfy customer requirements using professional sales techniques.
  • Articulate financial benefits to new owners of solutions to close sales opportunities.
  • Deliver solutions that address customer business issues.
  • Build trust through planning, data gathering, need development, objection handling, interpersonal skills, and closing.

Communication and Leadership

  • Communicate progress toward goals, resources needed, and resource use with immediate supervisor; use company resources to enhance performance.
  • Maintain communication with key internal customers; understand brand performance and customer issues and trends.
  • Develop effective oral and written presentations that clearly articulate recommendations and conclusions.

Required Qualifications/Experience
  • Four years of direct sales experience in a corporate B2B environment.
  • Experience in hospitality/travel industry or within the assigned market segment preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
  • For U.S. based positions, the expected pay range is $70,000 - $85,000 annually.
  • Incentive pay eligible with a target of 20% under the Annual Incentive Plan, subject to plan terms.
  • Health, dental, vision, life/AD&D, disability coverage, and 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid vacation, holidays, paid sick leave, paid time off for volunteering, bereavement, jury duty, and other days as allowed by business needs.
