Job Purpose

The Manager of Analytics & Insights is responsible for data analysis, reporting and insights across multiple BritBox territories with a focus on initiatives that empower business units to extract greater value and deliver insights through advanced analytics. The role will focus on generation and sharing of key business insights to support subscriber growth and retention with BritBox team members around the world.

This role is based in New York, reporting to the Director of Analytics & Insights. This will involve working with editorial, marketing and business development teams, global finance, research, product, and strategy functions, and sharing learnings and best practice with colleagues supporting the Britbox regions.

Key responsibilities will include creation and interpretation of business as usual editorial and subscriber performance reporting, plus ad-hoc analysis for specific territory editorial, user segmentations, promotional, distribution and other activities. The primary purpose of the role is to support strong business and editorial decision making, through the accurate and timely interpretation of data, with statistical rigor, clear communication, and provision of actionable recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Analytics Expertise: Possess 5+ years of experience (excluding internships) in analytics, with increasing responsibility in Entertainment, Media, Communications, or related industries.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in SQL and advanced presentation and visualization skills using business intelligence tools (Tableau is strongly preferred).
  • Subscription Business Understanding: Familiarity with subscription-based business models and a deep understanding of subscriber acquisition, retention, and churn metrics.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrating subject matter authority and expertise.
  • Data Processes: Understand concepts related to data processes (e.g., data warehouses, automation) and how information can drive competitive advantage.
  • Task Translation: Accurately interpret and translate complex requests into actionable tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain high standards by monitoring and reviewing the quality of work, both your own and that of others.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business unit stakeholders to understand requirements and develop reporting and insights solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Report and Dashboard Creation: Create, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards within our centralized Tableau instance.
  • Analytics Project Execution: Drive execution on analytics projects by defining problems, identifying relevant data sources, applying appropriate analytic techniques, ensuring accuracy, and presenting actionable results.
  • End-to-End Reporting Process: Take ownership of the end-to-end reporting process, from querying in-depth data to collaborating with team members to understand underlying business drivers. Create clear presentations that communicate insights related to business and customer trends, performance against KPIs, and recommendations for company growth.
  • Ongoing Business Reporting: Continuously report on customer acquisition, retention, marketing performance, customer lifetime value (LTV), user engagement, and editorial/programming performance. Tailor these insights for various stakeholders, including business leads and senior executives.

Salary Range: $105-115K base salary.
