Management Analyst-Community Corrections - Unified Government Of Wyandotte County And Kansas City : Job Details

All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for leading annual departmental budget development, tracking trends and patterns, developing budget processes that lead to effective stewardship of funds, this includes coordinating the preparation of the department's annual budget, reviewing and approving requests for budget adjustments. Additional responsibilities include researching, reviewing, and analyzing data for decision-making purposes; providing advice to key personnel regarding a particular field of expertise; making public presentations; documenting and providing data to the Kansas Department of Corrections regarding grants and for pass through subgrantees. Populates information and data for UG Workday and state-maintained grant database systems. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field or an equivalent work experience sufficient to successfully perform duties. Three years of responsible professional experience in budget administration, municipal research, or related field preferred. Knowledge of accounting principles, audit methods, governmental accounting and reporting, payroll, fringe benefits, taxes, and retirement policies. Experience with reviewing and analyzing data; giving presentations; preparing reports and spreadsheets; performing accounting activities; preparing and monitoring budgets and related financial systems.
