Salary : $27,240.00 - $45,973.00 Annually Location : Raleigh County, WV Job Type: Full-Time Permanent Job Number: NR25-62 PSA Department: Commerce - Natural Resources Opening Date: 07/26/2025 Closing Date: 8/10/2025 11:59 PM Eastern LOCATION OF VACANCY: RALEIGH Nature of Work ***This job opportunity is not in the classified service and is not covered by the WV Division of Personnel merit system.*** Parks/Little Beaver State Park Under general supervision of the Park Superintendent, this employee will perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled work such as routine carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry work to any and all buildings, structures, and grounds on the 562 acres of Little Beaver State Park, which include a 75-site campground with bathhouses, picnic area with 5 reservable picnic shelters, activities building, 18-acre lake with fishing and boat rentals, playground, and hiking/biking trails. Employee will perform ground maintenance such as mowing grass, trimming, tree removal, and the removal and disposal of all trash and waste materials including roadside trash pickup. Will assist with maintaining proper care and use of all mowing and construction tools and equipment. Employee may paint the interior and exterior of buildings including trim work. Will assist at special functions and events. Employee will occasionally work in the park office taking picnic shelter reservations, assisting with purchasing documents, answering the phone, and performing related office duties. Employee performs any and all related park maintenance work. This employee must also be able to work independently with other maintenance workers and laborers providing direction and determining materials needed for specific tasks in the absence of a supervisor. This employee should be knowledgeable of standards, practices, and general policies for work, safety, and cleanliness at Little Beaver State Park. Employee must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Employee must have the ability to handle and resolve guest complaints in a manner reflecting a positive image for Little Beaver. Employee must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, rooftops, and in closed spaces, and be able to lift and move heavy objects. This employee must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Must be licensed to drive in the state of West Virginia. Employee is required to wear furnished uniforms.
