PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The position will be within the Shops Department and is responsible for performing general mechanical maintenance on power plant equipment.
The Shop team supports a culture of continuous improvement by participating in training, reinforcing standards, reporting, and mitigating unsafe or undesirable conditions, and utilizing the corrective action program.
This position may regularly require 20% travel.
Position Scope:
Position reports to CGS Maintenance Foreman
The incumbent in this position must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization. Knowledge of plant equipment functions including safety rules and rigging, construction and maintenance practices.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex mechanical problems and make repairs.
Safety Consciousness, Contributing to Team Success, Technical/Professional Knowledge, Work Standards and Communication.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Starting rate $46 an hour
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Welding
Perform manual and semi-automatic welding with a variety of materials and processes to ASME code such as:
· FCAW.
· GMAW
· GTAW
· SMAW
· Oxy/acetylene
Fabrication
Work with various materials to construct and assemble metal structures from blueprints and/or engineered drawings using the following equipment:
· Overhead bridge cranes
· Semi-automated saws, CNC Press Brake
· CNC Plasma Table
· General hand tools and fixturing equipment
Technical Skills
· Interpret and understand prints and assembly drawings
· Geometric dimensioning/ tolerancing
· Shop math to set up equipment and perform quality checks.
· Attention to detail and quality
Perform new fabrication and repair work on plant equipment such as:
· Pumps, Gearboxes, Fans, intake screens, piping systems and Valves
· Perform disassembly and inspection for part repair or reverse engineering and replacement.
· Sound mechanical maintenance practices
· Adhere to conduct of maintenance, safety standards and established maintenance standards.
