The Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority (MIRA) PBF/EGF is an 80 MW RDF facility in Hartford, Connecticut, featuring three Combustion Engineering boilers and two GE steam turbines. The facility processes Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) at the adjacent WPF, also operated by us.
GENERAL SUMMARYThe Maintenance Manager oversees maintenance and repair of plant facilities and equipment, manages the plant's Maintenance Program, and ensures safe and efficient operation in collaboration with plant staff.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONSThis role requires working on feet for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective gear is mandatory, and work may involve hazardous materials. Extended hours, varied shifts, and on-call duties are expected. Participation in the Fitness for Duty Program and adherence to smoking restrictions are required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of power plant or similar experience. Experience in power generation or continuous manufacturing is highly desirable. Strong electrical, control, and rotating equipment knowledge, along with supervisory experience, are essential. Leadership skills and the ability to motivate are required.
IDEAL CANDIDATEPossesses strong leadership, mechanical skills, and professionalism, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, including plant ownership. Experience with US power plants and companies such as NRG, Wood Group, USPowerGen, AES Corporation, Duke Energy, or American Electric Power is preferred.
