Location: Chicago Heights, IL

Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all maintenance functions at the Chicago Heights, Illinois facility. Must collaborate with Safety, Production, Warehouse, and Quality departments to meet maintenance needs promptly. Controls inventory management for the Maintenance Department. Manages department supervisors and staff across up to three shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Tracks metrics like OEE, monitors trends, and ensures plant needs are met. Keeps records of downtime and provides data as needed.
  • Plans modifications and installations of equipment to ensure safety and improved production.
  • Creates outage plans for short- and long-term periods.
  • Manages vendor projects, administers contracts and proposals.
  • Refines maintenance activities to minimize downtime (PMs, changeovers, etc.).
  • Maintains supply source info for Vesuvius.
  • Prepares and completes bids for purchases and facility services; maintains contracts.
  • Oversees project progress and quality, enforces standards.
  • Prepares and manages the department budget.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Enforces safety regulations, maintains good housekeeping.
  • Assists in training and developing maintenance staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related).
  • 6+ years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC components.
  • Safety, health, and environmental awareness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, analyze problems, work independently, and manage time.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Flexibility to work extra hours including weekends.
