Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the administration and coordination of the execution of the facility's maintenance processes. The primary objective of this position is to improve the value of all Company assets at the Winchester plant through increased reliability and lower operating costs while allowing the operation of the equipment to meet production requirements within budget guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Ultimately responsible for the safety of the reporting personnel.
  • Individual is expected to perform job duties safely and ensure all maintenance technicians perform duties safely and in compliance with the documentation outlined in the Safety, Health & Environmental system.
  • Actively participate in Monthly Safety Meetings, complete LMS courses, pre-job safety reviews, and perform audits as scheduled by the Safety Department.
  • Emphasize the importance of safety to the crew with every job and document.

People:

  • Manages Maintenance/Electricians on a daily basis
  • Continually assess maintenance group work performance through critical maintenance metrics and develop a training plan to fit current and future needs.
  • Document and conduct performance reviews and career development plans with coworkers, providing constructive feedback and follow-up.
  • Act as back-up for Maintenance Supervisors at other divisions if needed.

Responsiveness:

  • Coordinates installations and repair work with Maintenance Manager, Plant Manager, & Production Manager, and Process Improvement group to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Organizes and plans daily projects and general work. Balances the planned work order assignments with the reactive work for most efficient work completion.
  • Maintains inventory and orders parts for all projects and day-to-day plant needs.
  • Maintains the building and grounds.
  • Utilize maintenance software to assist in achieving company goals as related to downtime, spare parts, predictive and preventive maintenance.
  • Identify and communicate equipment repairs and repeat failures for potential improvements.
  • Responds to calls for assistance on nights and weekends.
  • Meet with vendors about new products or equipment and coordinate follow up as needed.
  • Prepares and executes projects for replacement equipment or continuous improvement projects.
  • Uses problem-solving techniques to identify root causes, rectify and properly communicate to stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Plant Manager.

Cost:

  • Develop cost reduction initiatives for the plant each year.
  • Manage costs with the Plant Manager to meet business plan objectives.

Training, and Skills:

  • Knowledge of the facility, the process, maintenance, materials, and its people.
  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to call-ins.
  • Committed to continued learning and further education.
  • Experience in a culture that placed strong emphasis on self-sufficiency and service .
  • Familiarity of working with environmental regulations in the continuous co-process manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering principles of thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass flow, and mechanical engineering.
  • Must possess good written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Professional attitude and ability to respond to changing priorities of the business.
  • Ability to work independently, to organize, take initiative and exercise sound judgment.

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ years of maintenance or electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor of Science or technical degree .
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, software and logic. Skilled in Microsoft Office.
