Maintenance/HVAC - Tate County School District : Job Details

TITLE Maintenance Employee - HVAC REPORTS TO: Director of Buildings and Grounds LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR: 9-12 months (187-235 days) FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Troubleshoots and repairs electrical control circuits, using electrical test devices.

Replaces faulty thermostats, wiring, and controls.

Checks accuracy and calibrates electrical, pneumatic and electronic control systems.

Overhauls small reciprocal compressors.

Replaces faulty electrical components

Make minor repairs to equipment.

Adherence to the Mississippi Educator Code of Ethics/Standards of Conduct.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience in ventilation and refrigeration theory.

Experience in the practices, methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of ventilation, air conditioning and environmental control equipment.

Ability to follow specific written or oral instructions

Skilled in the use of tools and equipment utilized in the repair of ventilation, air conditioning and environmental control equipment.

Knowledge of electrical systems and industry standards.

Ability to work with limited supervision.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Five (5) years experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation, air

conditioning and environmental control systems is preferred.

Have a heating and/or air conditioning license based on State requirements, as directed by the Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Fire Sprinkler Contractors.

Experience in performing a variety of task associated with electrical work or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
