Job DescriptionResponsible for the maintenance of the physical plant buildings, grounds, equipment, and utilities. Individual Maintenance Technicians are originally hired to perform specialty tasks i.e., carpentry, painting, etc. and are expected to work in other trade fields when trained and qualified.
QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Completion of a certification course in a trade or 2 years practical experience in one or more of the following trades: carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, locksmith, general building, general equipment maintenance. Associates of Science Degree in related field, such as HVAC, Central Station Equipment or other technical field preferred.
Experience: Minimum two years experience required. Certification/Degree may be substituted for experience.
Technical Skills: Skills in one or more of the specialized trades. License/Certification Certification in specialized trade preferred (carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
Other: Must have basic mathematical aptitude and exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities to be able to identify problems and make recommendations for corrective action with all mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
