Maintenance Engineer - Cleveland-Cliffs : Job Details

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer at our East Chicago, Indiana operation. This role involves providing technical engineering expertise to identify the root causes of equipment failures, develop and implement corrective actions, and establish maintenance procedures to enhance equipment stability. The ideal candidate will have prior steel industry experience, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations. Summary of Responsibilities. Monitors and tracks line equipment availability and operating efficiency issues, and creates pareto type analysis to identify key equipment problems/failures areas. Performs root cause analysis to determine equipment failures and initiates necessary corrective action to eliminate/reduce such failures. Plans equipment outages and down turn repairs; establishes maintenance shops; sets priorities to ensure timely, efficient repair/replacement of equipment.
