POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance department to ensure environmental center compliance in accordance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances, regulations, and building codes. Ensures the center is maintained in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition, in good repair, and free from hazards such as electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling system issues. Also responsible for providing quality laundry services.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- One to two years of supervisory experience in a commercial establishment with knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance procedures.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in long-term care preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise all Environmental Services personnel and daily work in assigned areas, balancing budget and staffing, and resolving interdepartmental personnel issues. Process and maintain records of accounts payable, supplies received, and equipment maintenance.Execute the company's preventative maintenance program, document all maintenance activities including replacement of parts and materials used, as well as fuel supply.Collaborate with healthcare workers and department leaders to ensure infection prevention and address other environmental requests.Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment in good working order, process work order requests, establish work priorities, and perform daily inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness.Check light bulbs, exit lights, water temperatures, circuit breakers, temperatures of walk-in coolers and freezers, and call-light systems, adjusting as needed.Ensure proper functioning of power generation, time clocks, exhaust fans, water fountains, toilets, and drains; regularly check and balance scales and operate elevators.Conduct fire drills; check fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and lubricate fire doors.Identify and recommend independent contractors for repairs or maintenance work outside the maintenance crew's scope.Assist in developing and updating departmental procedures and policies.Supervise the day-to-day maintenance functions of assigned personnel.Manage and prepare rooms for discharged or new residents.Maintain accurate maintenance records and prioritize projects to ensure timely completion.Other responsibilities may be assigned or changed at any time with or without notice.Austin Wellness and Rehabilitation Center provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants, prohibiting discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, genetics, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by law.
