Position Description

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance department to ensure environmental center compliance in accordance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances, regulations, and building codes. Ensures the center is maintained in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition; in good repair, free from hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems. Also responsible for providing quality laundry service.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Supervise all Environmental Services personnel and daily work in assigned areas throughout the center in an effective, efficient manner that enhances service levels while managing expense budgets, staffing, and resolving interdepartmental and personnel issues. Maintain records of accounts payable, supplies received, equipment maintenance, and other department business.
  • Implement the company's preventive maintenance program and record-keeping systems to ensure the center remains at its highest physical condition.
  • Develop the center profile and physical plant history by maintaining comprehensive documentation of all maintenance activities, including records of replacement parts and materials used. Maintain records of fuel supply.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work for the center in accordance with applicable regulations and codes.
  • Collaborate with residents, nurses, physicians, department leaders, and staff regarding environmental service requests, infection prevention, service resolution, and other interdepartmental matters. Provide timely follow-up and communicate best practices with management.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, which may change at any time with or without notice.
  • Qualifications
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • One to two years of supervisory experience in a commercial setting with knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance procedures.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care preferred.
    • HVAC experience required.
    • Maintenance experience required.
    • Healthcare experience preferred but can be provided training if necessary.
