The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the healthcare facility to ensure a safe, functional, and compliant environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to work orders, and adhering to healthcare standards and building codes.

It is also agreat working environment for our staff as we truly value and appreciate each member of our team!Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Repair and maintain patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, kitchens, and other facility spaces.

  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and troubleshoot equipment failures in a timely manner.

Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, local/state/federal regulations, and healthcare accreditation requirements.

  • Monitor fire suppression systems, emergency power systems, and safety equipment for readiness.

  • Maintain logs of inspections, repairs, and safety checks.

Facility Support
  • Assist with room turnover, including minor carpentry, painting, lighting, and equipment installation.

  • Support environmental services and infection control by maintaining cleanliness of maintenance areas.

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors on facility upgrades or specialized repairs.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; trade school certification or technical training preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in general maintenance or facilities management; experience in a healthcare setting highly preferred.

  • Licensure/Certifications (if applicable):

    • HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing license (optional but advantageous).

    • OSHA 10/30-hour certification.

    • Valid driver's license (if travel between sites is required).

Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.

  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.

  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Sensitivity to confidentiality and infection control procedures in a healthcare environment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces.

  • Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and use of hand/power tools.

  • Available for on-call rotation, weekends, and emergency repairs as needed.

Performance Metrics
  • Response time to maintenance requests.

  • Completion rate of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Safety and compliance audit outcomes.

  • Customer satisfaction scores (staff and patient feedback).
