We invite you to join our leadership team as the Director of Maintenance. In this highly visible role, you will report directly to the Nursing Home Administrator. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and services of the Maintenance Services Department. The Manager will ensure departmental operations are performed in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, community policies and procedures, and as directed by the Administrator. The role requires knowledge of and ability to obtain all necessary environmental services-related certifications. The Manager values the community as residents' home and works to create a welcoming, home-like environment, fostering person-centered care.
Education, Experience, and/or Training:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
2-4 years of management experience.
Building maintenance experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of City, State, and Federal regulations pertaining to licensed skilled nursing facilities.
Knowledge of fire safety and OSHA standards.
HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical experience preferred.
The Environmental Services Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Ensuring the safety of all residents, visitors, and staff within the facility.
Troubleshooting and repairing various systems within the facility.
Ensuring compliance with State-required inspections and codes.
Collaborating with the Administrator on facility improvements and supervising planned construction projects.
Maintaining a welcoming, home-like appearance for residents, staff, and visitors.
Working with other department heads to improve facility operations.
Maintaining building safety, performing repairs on electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
Maintaining fire alarm and emergency generator systems.
Supervising the Environmental Department(s), including staff orientation.
Maintaining records, reports, and budget planning.
Being on-call for emergencies.
Coordinating fire and emergency drills according to regulations.
Managing contracted services related to building, grounds, and equipment maintenance.
Ensuring all building systems are functional and maintained.
Physical or Mental Demands: This position involves heavy physical work, including lifting up to 100 pounds and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.
