Mail/Security Officer - CATHOLIC HEALTH SERVICES OF LONG ISLAND : Job Details

Of the Security Officer include: Responds quickly and effectively to emergent and non-emergent situations. Ensures only authorized personnel are admitted onto Hospital premises. Responds without undue delay to emergency calls for assistance to control disorderly conduct or combative patients. Patrols buildings and grounds; inspects doors, windows and locks to determine level of security. Investigates incidents of unusual circumstances reported by hospital personnel, visitors, physicians or patients. Reports all incidents, verbally or through incident report documentation before the end of the shift. Inspects, tests, and maintains fire related equipment and apparatus at the Hospital and off sites; conducts fire & safety inspections of buildings. Instructs Hospital personnel on fire safety and prevention. Regulates and controls vehicular traffic; ensures emergency vehicle access and patrols parking areas to detect any irregularities.
