The LEGO Group is building a 1.7 million-square-foot precision production facility just south of Richmond in Chesterfield, Virginia. Job Description In Final Pack we work as a team, always collaborating and helping each other to satisfy the needs of our three main customers: Planning, Shipping and Warehouse. Our key focus: Keep or increase our efficiency while ensuring high quality products and a safe environment delivering pieces on time in full. Semiautomatic Specialist Operator exists because it is a position to support the line leaders with some activities regarding Change Overs, quality inspections, machine cleaning, proactive detection of safety and quality issues and timely escalating any issue to the Line leaders or Production team leads to receive the proper support. This position operates one or multiple pieces of production equipment, including moving raw material to the production line, filling, lifting, carrying. Provide support, participate proactively and demonstrate leadership on Safety and Quality in the area. Comply with the Safety legal requirements, standards (External / internal) and others applicable to the area. Responsible for keeping the machines and working area clean and in good conditions, before, during and after shift. Responsible for the Operation, Change Over and fine adjustments of the production Semiautomatic Line, specifically the Box Former and/or Box Closer or Case Packer following SOP (Standard Operating Procedures). Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner. Follow the Quality standards to get a high quality product coming out from Box Former and/or Box Closer, Case Packer Contribute to the constant flow of the line avoiding unexpected downtimes and working with maintenance, engineering and other support areas as necessary. Accomplish with the standard hourly results of production. Support line operation activities (Autonomous Maintenance (AM), 5S, Quality Checks, Line Release Audit, etc.) Propose improvements in production processes regarding safety, quality and operations. Collaborate to keep an excellent communication with peers following LEGO values. Regular, reliable and predictable attendance, and able to work in 2-2-3 pattern and Overtime when requested. Requirements Technical education in Mechanics. 1-2 years of experience as machine operator, similar to a box former / box closer and Case packer machines, and with high speed production lines. Preferred experience with carboard processing machinery. Good communication skills (verbal and written) with peers and leaders. Good Math skills. Ability to read a tape measure. Understand fractions and decimals, and ability to convert fractions and decimals. Analytical reasoning/problem-solving skills required. Experience with computers in a manufacturing setting (Easy HMI, electronic settings, solving for faults/alarms) Experience with minor mechanical repairs (e.g., jams, using tools, making basic adjustments to equipment, etc.) Experience with conducting preventative maintenance (e.g., inspecting and maintaining equipment, detecting and correcting issues before they occur, etc.) Must be able to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50 % of the shift. Must be able to stand/walk/bend/twist for prolonged periods of up to 12 hours/day as needed per production area. Maintenance experience. Syntegon box former/closer/case packer machines experience preferred. Salary: $21.74 Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
