Job Title: Machine Vision EngineerLocation: 100% onsite in Corning, NY (no remote work allowed)Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview:

Seeking a Machine Vision Engineer to contribute to the development of imaging systems and software for image data processing. This role supports the inspection and production of advanced glass and ceramics products through collaboration within a manufacturing technology and engineering organization.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the measurements group to manipulate data for quality and production feedback
  • Train and deploy machine learning models for measurement system data analysis
  • Transition early-stage technologies into production-ready solutions
  • Create and update documentation for applications and procedures in production
  • Train engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on developed systems
  • Troubleshoot deployed applications using data and performance analysis
  • Required Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree (required). Preferred fields: Data Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, ECE, or Optics. MS or PhD preferred.
    • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant work experience

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong programming skills (C# and Python preferred)
    • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and software architecture
    • Experience training Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and using traditional ML methods
    • Proficient in data retrieval, plotting, and analysis
    • Familiarity with image processing algorithms (e.g., blob analysis, edge detection, morphology, feature extraction, classification, metrology)
    • Proficient with MS Office and strong communication/presentation skills

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience with image processing tools (Halcon, OpenCV)
    • Knowledge of statistical analysis and manufacturing engineering efficiency (MEE) concepts
    • Familiarity with database management systems
    • Experience in metrology, inspection, and product quality in manufacturing environments
    • Hands-on work with optical measurement systems (e.g., lighting, cameras, 3D imaging, lasers)
    • Understanding of physical optics principles

    Soft Skills:

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
    • Strong customer-facing communication skills
    • Results-driven, quick learner, and effective multitasker

    Work Authorization:Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for at least one year from the assignment start date.

    Job Types: Full-time, Contract

    Pay: $50.00 – $56.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week
