Who We Are

At San Domenico, we believe that what students do with their education is as important as their academic performance. Every day we encourage our students to not just study, but also to reflect on their learning, find their purpose, and celebrate in community, because an exceptional education, where values and academics join together, creates more than just great students – it develops great people. San Domenico is a K-12, gender inclusive school, with international boarding and day students in our Upper School.

PurposeStatement

The Lower School Math Specialist is a dynamic instructional leader who brings joyful, rigorous, and creative math learning to all K–5 students. In addition to working closely in support of students, this educator collaborates with teachers to strengthen instruction across the division—integrating real-world problem solving, growth mindset practices, and data-informed strategies that help students build confidence, curiosity, and deep conceptual understanding.

The Math Specialist also leads professional learning for faculty, models effective teaching practices, and contributes to a shared vision for math education that grows with our students. Drawing on programs like Eureka and Zearn, and using tools such as Beast Academy, IXL, MAP, Math Olympiad, and hands-on activities, this role supports cross-grade alignment and helps students develop the quantitative skills they need to thrive in Middle School and beyond.

The Math Specialist's goal is for every student to emerge from Lower School with a strong foundation in mathematics, the capacity to think critically and flexibly, and the skills to tackle increasingly complex challenges with clarity and confidence.
