Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Teacher (Grades 1-2)Gilmour Academy is an independent, Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory school in the Holy Cross tradition. Gilmour instills in every student a strong sense of self-worth through personal achievement and discovering his or her voice.We are seeking a Long Term Substitute Teacher for first and second grade Math and Science to cover a maternity leave for the first semester of the 25-26 school year. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction, create a positive learning environment, and maintain continuity in the curriculum during the absence of the regular classroom teacher.Responsibilities:

• Provide daily instruction for students in grades 1/2 Math and Science.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Offer differentiated support for students with different learning needs.
• Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Ensure a safe, organized, and engaging classroom setting.
• Supervise students during lunch and recess.
• Follow school policies and procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in required professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Experience teaching elementary-aged students (preferred).
• Comfortable using technology for teaching and communication.
• Valid ODE teaching certification or Substitute License.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
