North Georgia Programs and Services is a public nonprofit agency contracted with the Georgia Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman program to provide services across 32 counties in North Georgia and Metro Atlanta. With over 20 years of combined experience, our Ombudsman Representatives are dedicated advocates for residents in long-term care facilities. We monitor care quality, investigate complaints, and offer assistance to the general public and facility staff. Our representatives also provide training and participate in legislative advocacy to improve the quality of life and care for long-term care residents.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Long Term Care Ombudsman Representative based out of your home office. Ideal candidates will be located in the Floyd, Bartow, and Gordon county area. As an LTCOR, you will be responsible for advocating for residents in long-term care facilities, completing regular monitoring visits, investigating complaints, and working towards their resolution. Additional duties include providing information and assistance to residents and their families, as well as conducting training sessions for facility staff and community education. Legislative advocacy is also a key aspect of this role to improve long-term care quality.

Qualifications

• Advocacy, complaint investigation, and problem-resolution skills
• Experience in community education and staff training
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience in long-term care or aging services
• Knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations
• Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field
