The Logistical Specialist is responsible for supporting the logistics functions to ensure that all components needed for product samples and testing builds are ready on time and meet quality standards. This is accomplished by material handling, using databases, and spreadsheets to track progress of orders and parts from various sources. The Logistical Specialist will work with multiple cross functional teams, and departments to resolve issues and accomplish tasks.
Schedule: 2nd Shift, 1pm-9pm Monday through Friday with some occasional overtime
Duties
- Read and interpret work order parts list to determine status and source of parts.
- Place orders with Manufacturing for production components.
- Check incoming part orders for completeness and accuracy and perform part inspections as necessary with various measurement tools.
- Wash parts per procedure and maintain parts washers by checking detergent concentration and cleaning out/recharging periodically to maintain cleanliness of hardware.
- If defects are found, follow proper quarantine procedure and communication of defect.
- Maintains inventory at offsite warehouse(s) and transports hardware to/from facilities as necessary using company vans and trucks.
Required Skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Must be able to read and write proficiently and have good basic math skills.
- Computer software experience is required. Ability to send and receive e-mail, and work with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams is essential.
- Must have a valid NC driver license to operate company vehicles
- Must have a Valid Fork Truck License or be able to obtain one
- SAP or other ERP system experience needed
Preferred Skills
- GEMS software and TPD software knowledge strongly preferred
- Tugger license and Fork-truck authorization a plus
- Communication skills, and ability to work with cross functional teams
- Familiarity with automotive components, materials, and manufacturing methods
