Job Description
The Project Manager of Logistics will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of projects from start to finish and managing client relationships. You will handle projects in a 3PL environment, focusing on carrier relations, routing, distribution, fulfillment, and procurement. Your role will ensure smooth execution and strategic process improvements to optimize performance.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ownership of the full project lifecycle: onboarding, planning, implementation, execution, scope changes, reporting, budget management, and deliverables for multiple projects.
- Maintain all project documentation, processes, procedures, and reporting.
- Manage daily activities, billings, and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff to meet shared goals.
- Create and present financial reports on project finances, progress, and issues.
- Oversee project bidding and present proposals to the Executive team for approval.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Analyze inventory daily, resolve discrepancies, and manage inbound and outbound logistics.
- Manage transportation, identify cost savings, and onboard new carriers.
- Address issues proactively to mitigate risks and support informed decision-making.
- Work effectively in ambiguous environments and collaborate across departments.
- Stay informed on industry trends and share insights with the team.
- Lead internal and external project meetings as needed.
- Understand the relationship between technology, operations, and business to drive continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in Logistics Project Management, 3PL, distribution, or supply chains.
- 3+ years managing high-end clients.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business.
- Strong financial skills for negotiation, margin management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Experience with TMS and WMS systems, logistics, routing, and vendor management.
- Ability to mentor staff, think strategically, and solve problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and lead change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
