We are recruiting for a Logistics Manager to oversee route schedules, customer deliveries, ensure DOT compliance, manage fleet maintenance, and support the achievement of company safety and performance goals.
Specifically, this position will:
- Ensure compliance with all DOT/FMCSA regulations and CDL operational standards.
- Cover routes as needed and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all customer delivery routes.
- Oversee random DOT drug screening processes and documentation.
- Collaborate with customer service and production to address delivery concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with leasing companies on vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Ride along with drivers from time to time to monitor performance, provide onsite customer service, and build relationships with drivers.
- Cover shifts as a driver when necessary due to absence or vacancies.
- Oversee transportation supply inventory and manage invoice approvals.
- Manage fleet reporting and ensure timely submission of data and compliance reports.
- Monitor and manage transportation costs while meeting employee turnover goals.
- Ensure new hires are trained on, and all staff follow, company policies, objectives, and safety standards.
- Supervise a staff of 10 drivers with 24/7 routes within a 200 mile radius.
Candidates should possess:
- High school diploma, Clean Driving Record, and a Class A CDL
- 1+ year as a driver, and 1+ year supervisory experience in transportation/logistics.
- Strong leadership and team training skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective conflict resolution and accountability skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must meet all DOT and company compliance requirements (drug screen, physicals, certifications, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push/pull carts weighing up to 800 lbs. (on wheels)
- Lift up to 25 lbs. overhead
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs for up to 10 hours per day
- Capable of repetitive arm motions
- Available to drive nights and weekends
- Must be able to speak and read English fluently; minimum of rough Spanish preferred.
