Position Purpose
Develops, implements, and monitors all logistics management activities required for the timely and efficient transportation and distribution of products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop solutions leveraging the company's volumes, systems, and partnerships to provide high customer service levels in a cost-effective manner.
- Identify and prioritize logistics needs; communicate recommendations to management for efficient product distribution.
- Provide data and recommendations on product tracking, route analysis, rerouting, costing, and usage.
- Advise IS and system users on logistics system improvements and changes.
- Respond to RFIs from potential software vendors.
- Test vendor software packages to identify shortcomings and assess customization capabilities.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports
- Reports to Sr. Manager, Director, Sr. Director, or VP.
- Requires interpersonal skills for sensitive situations and unstructured problems requiring original approaches.
- Determines priorities and defines actions once given general assignments.
Travel Requirements
- Typically less than 10% overnight travel.
