Logistics Dispatcher - Amrize : Job Details

ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a dedicated Logistics Dispatcher who will be instrumental in ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment while effectively managing our truck fleet in compliance with DOT regulations. In this role, you will assist in enhancing our network of haulers and maintain adherence to company policies and risk management standards.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Safety: Champion our Core value of Zero Accidents & Incidents across all operations. Engage actively with customers, haulers, and weigh masters to promote safe practices, and participate in annual Transportation Safety Initiatives.
• Behavior & Attitude: Exhibit a dynamic, positive problem-solving attitude.
• Inventory Management: Identify alternate products, adjust operating hours, and explore service opportunities while maintaining clear communication with the plant and sales teams.
• Logistics: Collaborate with customers and contracted haulers to select optimal haul solutions for every order. Build and uphold productive relationships with haulers, maintain an updated hauler directory, and attract new haulers to meet trucking requirements. Dispatch trucks and monitor performance in real-time, focusing on demand and capacity optimization.
• Order-Taking & Customer Service: Be the primary contact for customers for inquiries related to orders, pickups, deliveries, and problem resolution. Actively seek additional business opportunities from existing clients and assist in lead generation for potential new customers.
• Systems & Processes: Manage scale information to generate reports and identify trends for improvement. Conduct spot inspections to ensure DOT compliance and mitigate risks.
• Commitment to Safety: Adhere to and promote health, safety, and environmental policies in all work settings.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
• Experience: 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general internet usage.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Basic math skills, with or without a calculator.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional telephone etiquette.
  • Experience in short haul trucking and phone solicitation.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use office technology effectively.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requiring strong analytical skills.
  • Compliance with safety protocols and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
