POSITION PURPOSE: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for working with resources necessary to ensure safe, timely, and efficient delivery of incoming feed ingredients and outgoing animal feed. Core responsibilities involve working with customers, sales, plant operations, and carriers to plan and execute trips on a daily basis in a 24/7 dispatch operation. Coordination with Accounting is also necessary to ensure appropriate recording of production, load information and freight expenses. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Create and communicate shipping orders to shippers, freight providers and buyers. Provide exceptional customer service and foster relationships with internal and external customers including but not limited to brokers and truck drivers and companies.
Administer and adjust the dispatch sheet and planned sales orders taking into consideration the upcoming production schedule, current inventory levels, and customer needs. Collaborate with Operations team to understand and have working knowledge of inventory levels and needs. Organize and communicate with the sales team, and customers to take orders, enter them into the ERP system, and schedule for load out. Communicate and work with the Operations Team to ensure smooth receipt and shipment of loads. Maintain consistent and constant contact with key PTUSA Staff and employees. Communicate regularly with Trans Loads to ensure product availability and end of month inventory reporting. Ensure all freight management and logistics management systems are up to date at all times. Effectively research and resolve accounting and logistical issues as they arrive. Provide on call assistance for internal and external customers as needed. Participate in the day to day analysis of originating dried distillers gain. Ensure a positive company representation to carriers, customers, and vendors delivering raw materials and picking up finished product. Comply and enforce at all times PTUSA, ICM Ventures and OSHA safety programs and regulations. Responsible for production of safe animal feed and adherence to internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Take on additional responsibilities as assigned and needed to successfully contribute to the development of Pellet Technology USA as a company and growing entity. Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of specialized study or trade preferred
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- 3-5 years of similar or related scheduling and logistics experience
- Familiar with carrier and shipment requirements
- Knowledge of feed safety and lot tracking requirements
- Experience in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION: Must be able to be on-call outside standard workday hours. May be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures, wet and humid conditions. Must be able to speak English and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. PHYSICAL STRENGTH: This job may require lifting of up to 20.
