About The Position We are seeking a skilled General Surgery Physician Assistant for a 16-day locum tenens assignment in New York, beginning on Sep 1, 2025. This role primarily involves first assisting in the operating room, with shifts from Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm, including one night of call per week. The position demands a professional who is adept in a variety of surgical procedures including general surgery, OBGYN, and orthopedics, providing an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic clinical environment. Job Details Location: New York Start Date: Sep 1, 2025 LOA: 16 days Provider Type Needed: General Surgery Physician Assistant Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7 am-3 pm or 7 am-5 pm Weekend rounding for Sep 6-7, 8 am-12 pm Potential for a call shift every Tuesday from 5 pm-7 am Responsibilities and Duties First assisting in the operating room across various surgical procedures. Work collaboratively with surgical teams in OBGYN and orthopedic cases. Manage pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients. Support emergency procedures in trauma (Level III trauma experience necessary). Utilize robotic surgical systems as needed, enhancing surgical precision and recovery times. Additional Information Must be board certified in General Surgery. Active NY license required. Recent experience with Epic EMR systems is essential. Strong skills in trauma and robotics surgery are highly preferred.
