JOB DESCRIPTION

Title of the position: Bone Density Tech

Start Date/Tentative End Date: ASAP

Is the position possibly temp to hire for the right candidate or strictly temp? Temp to hire

Hours the associate will be working? 8am – 4pm

Responsibilities

• Perform bone densitometry and other highly specialized skeletal imaging procedures.
• Prepare printouts for review and analysis of related data.
• Responsible for data management via Excel and other repositories.
• Provides quality control reports and analyzes clinical results.
• Responsible for collecting patient information and maintaining equipment.
• Responsible for triaging incoming calls.
• Schedules and confirms bone density appointments.
• Checks in and checks out patients.
• Obtains and links bone density orders prior to scheduled appointments.
• Scans insurance cards and necessary forms.
• Maintains knowledge of accepted insurance and collects applicable copays.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent in training, education, and experience
• New York State Radiological Technician License is required
• Experience with bone density measurement technology
• Related computer data management and reporting skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills including professional phone manner

Preferred Qualifications

• International Society of Clinical Densitometry certification
• Ability to be trained to perform other highly specialized skeletal procedures, such as High-Resolution peripheral Quantitative Computer Tomography

Other Requirements

• Participation in the medical surveillance program
• Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
• Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
