Job Requirements:

• Active BLS certification (AHA).
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) via NHA, AAH, and AAMC (One of them)
• One of the following de-escalation certifications: CPI, MOAB, Handle with Care, TRUST training, or Preventing and Managing Crisis Situations

Job Summary:The Patient Care Technician will provide essential clinical and supportive care for patients in a psychiatric unit setting. This role involves direct patient interaction, performing clinical tasks such as phlebotomy and EKGs, and assisting the healthcare team in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform phlebotomy and 12-lead EKGs.
• Provide 1:1 patient observation, transport, and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Conduct patient contraband searches and property inventory.
• Assist nurses and physicians with procedures and patient care.
• Support patient safety through de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention when needed.

Patient Population:Patients with severe mental illnesses and behavioral health issues such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, and multiple comorbidities (medically stable).
