Job Description Position: Registered Nurse - Progressive CareLocation: Atlanta, GA 30303Duration: 09/02/2025 - 10/25/2025 (with possibilities of extension)Shift: Night (12 hrs shift – 36 hrs. per week)Description: Must have documented PCU exp in work history, min 2 years in similar sized facility. 28 bed PCU/IMCU with cardiac population. Ratio 1:3-4. STEMI, NSTEMI, CTS, C/P. Cardiac drips (Milrinone, Dobutamine, Pressors). May also be assigned to telemetry beds in the same unit with lower acuity levels. BLS/ACLS required. Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit provides specialized nursing care for patients requiring close monitoring and complex care, often transitioning from intensive care to a general medical-surgical unit. The RN utilizes advanced assessment skills, critical thinking, and evidence-based practices to deliver high-quality care that supports patient recovery, prevents complications, and promotes optimal outcomes.Key Responsibilities• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.• Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other clinical indicators, intervening promptly as needed.• Administer prescribed medications, IV infusions, blood products, and other therapeutic treatments safely and accurately.• Operate and troubleshoot advanced patient monitoring systems and equipment.• Provide post-operative and post-intensive care support, including wound care, respiratory therapy assistance, and mobility facilitation.• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.• Respond to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions such as CPR and rapid response activation.• Maintain infection control practices and ensure a safe patient environment.
