🏥 Registered Nurse – PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Location: 10 Union Square East, New York, NY 10003Shift: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:15 PM

🔍 Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage medicated drips and post-operative recovery in a fast-paced environment.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia in Phase 1 and Phase 2 PACU settings
• Administer medications and manage medicated drips as per physician orders
• Provide post-operative care and pain management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital protocols
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions

📋 Qualifications

• License: Active New York State RN License
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required
• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Experience in post-op management and medicated drips

🎓 Education

• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Accepted: Associate Degree in Nursing with relevant experience and/or active enrollment in a BSN program

👥 Patient Ratios

• Phase 1 PACU: 2:1
• Phase 2 PACU: 5:1
