Responsibilities -

• The primary responsibility of the RN Charge Nurse is a professional nurse who demonstrates strong leadership skills, clinical expertise and compassion for patients and teammates.
• This nurse provides care for patients and has unit operation oversight throughout the assigned shift.
• Other key aspects of this position are role model professional nursing behaviors, clinical competencies and critical thinking.
• The charge nurse will mentor, precept and nurture new nurses with the goal of successful transition from novice to expert.
