Par Rate:$ 60 - $ 63 per Hour on W2
Job Summary: The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and quality standards. The role includes patient screening, equipment operation, safety monitoring, documentation, and ensuring optimal diagnostic images for interpretation by Radiologists.
Key Responsibilities:Interview and screen patients prior to MRI procedures for safety.Verify patient identity using two approved identifiers at every point of contact.Explain procedures clearly to patients, addressing any questions or concerns.Set up and operate MRI equipment safely, selecting appropriate technical factors and software settings.Position patients correctly and use immobilization devices as necessary.Monitor patient during the scan and ensure safety within MRI magnetic field Zone 4.Maintain cleanliness and safety of MRI suite and equipment after each scan.Perform quality control and calibration tests; report any equipment malfunctions.Manage MRI supply inventory and ensure adequate stock levels.Evaluate image quality and ensure correct identification before submitting for interpretation.Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for documenting procedures and accessing patient information.Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records and scan results.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:Minimum of 1 year of experience in MRI.
Proficiency with relevant MRI equipment and software.
Education Requirements:Associate's degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licensure & Certifications (Required):Valid New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Radiologic Technologist license.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
Preferred Certification:Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
