MRI Technologist – Elmhurst, NY

Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in Elmhurst, NY. The technologist will perform high-quality MRI procedures while ensuring patient safety, accurate imaging, and compliance with quality standards. Responsibilities include patient screening, positioning, operating MRI equipment, maintaining a safe environment, and documenting procedures in the EMR.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient interviews and screening for MRI safety.
  • Verify patient identity with two approved identifiers at each point of contact.
  • Explain MRI procedures and provide patient instructions to ensure optimal results.
  • Safely position patients and operate MRI equipment, selecting appropriate technical factors.
  • Ensure safety of patients, staff, and visitors within MRI Zone 4.
  • Monitor patients during scans and address their needs or concerns.
  • Maintain MRI rooms in a clean, organized, and safe condition; clean scanners after each use.
  • Perform image quality checks, calibration tests, and report equipment malfunctions.
  • Manage MRI supply inventory and anticipate needs.
  • Evaluate image quality and accuracy prior to submission to the radiologist.
  • Document all encounters and imaging results in the EMR.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid NYSDOH Radiologic Technologist license (required).
  • ARRT (MRI) or ARMRIT certification (required).
  • At least 1 year of MRI experience with relevant equipment.
  • BLS certification (AHA) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols and patient care practices.

Schedule & Details

  • Rotating weekends and holiday coverage required.
  • Must be able to commit to the facility's assigned schedule.
  • In-person interviews only (on-site task required as part of the process).
