Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MLT) to join a high-volume Chemistry Department at a leading reference laboratory in Seattle, WA. This is a great opportunity for laboratory professionals who are detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to work in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Job Summary:
This generalist role involves specimen processing, test analysis, QC/QA compliance, and reporting in accordance with regulatory standards. Candidates must hold an ASCP certification and demonstrate strong clinical laboratory skills across multiple areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform moderate to high-complexity testing in the Chemistry and Immunochemistry departments.Perform specimen handling, processing, and testing in accordance with lab SOPs.Accurately document results and perform QA/QC procedures including Levy-Jennings chart interpretation and proficiency testing.Maintain compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and internal safety policies.Conduct and document quality control procedures, calibrations, and instrument maintenance.Troubleshoot and document problems affecting test performance; escalate as needed.Report STAT or critical results promptly as per department protocol.Maintain clear, complete records of all lab activities and test results.Ensure all reagents and test kits are labeled with received/opened/expiration dates.Participate in training, competency assessments, inspections, and department meetings.Maintain professional appearance and cleanliness of the laboratory environment.Support continuous learning through training on new procedures and systems.Provide excellent customer service when interacting with internal teams or clients.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong foundation in clinical laboratory science and high-complexity testing.
- Familiarity with quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and proficiency testing.
- Ability to work with multiple computer systems and laboratory software.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and emergency protocols.
Qualifications:
Education:
- BS in Medical Technology preferred
- OR BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology
- OR Associate's Degree in a lab science or Medical Technology
Certification:
- ASCP certification required (Generalist)
- AMT also accepted in some settings
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of clinical lab experience in high-complexity testing preferred
