Pride Health is hiring a Pathologist Assistant to support our client's medical facility based in Boston, MA 02111 .This is a 6 -month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Pathologist Assistant (PA) – 6-Month Assignment (2nd Shift)

Location: Boston, MA 02111

Shift: Monday–Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $35–$40/hour

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pathologist Assistant (PA) for a 6-month contract assignment in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will assist in the semi-complex grossing of specimens and perform related tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical laboratory. Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is highly preferred.

This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a team-focused environment, is comfortable handling a variety of specimen types, and has a strong understanding of laboratory protocols and quality assurance procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform complete dissection, gross description, selection, and submission of tissue for microscopic examination and special studies, following departmental protocols.

Cut and prepare frozen sections (preferred).

Ensure proper specimen handling and processing procedures.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Follow all laboratory quality control policies and procedures.

Assist with rotational assignments within the department, as needed.

Identify and troubleshoot issues that may affect test performance or reporting.

Maintain high ethical standards and a professional work environment.

Adhere to all safety and hazardous waste management protocols.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related science.

ASCP certification (PA) is highly preferred.

Experience cutting frozen sections is strongly desired.

Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program is a plus.

Familiarity with laboratory information systems and quality control procedures.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Must be able to pass a standardized color vision test.

Ability to work overtime or alternate shifts as required by business needs.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Clinical laboratory setting with routine exposure to biological specimens.

Requires standing for extended periods, lifting specimens, and wearing appropriate PPE.

Knowledge of bloodborne pathogens and personal protective measures is essential.
