Rang Healthcare is seeking a local contract Clinical Lab Assistant for a local contract job in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Job Description & RequirementsPrimary Responsibilities- Assists with the required processing of laboratory specimens, including but not limited to verification of specimen identification, requisition entry when necessary, centrifugation, and pouring of aliquots.- Performs a variety of clerical and technical procedures to prepare specimens for processing, result review, and verification. Answers phones, and assists with providing test result information to physicians.- Checks inventory of supplies, and notifies supervisor when ordering may be necessary.- Maintains work areas in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.- Operates the computer for required applications.- Complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies; adheres to established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.- Performs other similar or related duties as required or as directed in all sections, areas, and shifts.- Works closely with technical and clerical staff to maintain communication related to patient tests/processing.Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent, with reading skills verified at ninth-grade level or better.- Six months of laboratory experience preferred.- Must have good organizational skills.- Able to work independently on assigned tasks.Flu vaccine required for new staff starting 9/2. Current staff will need to be vaccinated.Active MA license
