Responsibilities

Position: Local Area Network (LAN) Sustainment Managed Systems Engineer

Support the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) on the ADCNOMS contract, focusing on DoDIN-A Cybersecurity and Network Operations. LANs are within limited areas, interconnected by WANs, and include various infrastructure components such as switches, wireless access points, and media converters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze DoDIN-A LAN performance and document findings monthly.
  • Recommend network modifications for optimal performance.
  • Maintain enterprise system documentation.
  • Conduct Change, Configuration, and Release Management activities.
  • Create documentation for emerging technologies and capabilities.
  • Perform vulnerability scans and compliance checks supporting RMF.
  • Develop artifacts like system functionality documentation, security plans, and configurations for system ATOs.
  • Update POA&M in eMASS for each capability.
  • Manage system changes using approved templates and CMDB.
  • Maintain baseline configurations within the ITEF.
  • Participate in technical forums and provide enterprise compliance analysis.
  • Support data mining, visualization, and reporting efforts.
  • Test system limitations and recommend improvements.
  • Support automated software delivery and configuration management.
  • Develop and release mitigation plans for Cyber Tasking Orders.
  • Create system-specific KPIs and analysis reports.
  • Draft enterprise system architectural diagrams and support fielding activities.
  • Monitor incident queues, respond promptly, and generate KPI reports.
  • Provide Tier III support and coordinate with various cyber centers and support teams.
  • Document errors, problems, and solutions during operations.
  • Escalate incidents with proper approval and draft remediation guidance.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Secret Security Clearance
  • CCNA and JNCIA-Junos certifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7–12 years of experience
  • Expertise in IP data networking, Cisco and Juniper equipment, network security, operating systems (Linux, Windows, IOS, JUNOS, Screen OS), and troubleshooting tools like WireShark
  • Experience with VLAN, QoS, NAC, 802.1x, DHCP, Wireless Technologies, Performance Analysis, Python scripting, and basic virtualization/cloud technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNP and JNCIP-Junos certifications
  • DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF 632) Systems Developer Advanced qualification or equivalent
  • ITIL v4 Foundations certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting, standing, ambulation, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and travel (up to 10%)
