Job Description Summary

This is a Multi-Site Engineer position responsible for several buildings within walking distance. The role supports the Assistant and/or Chief Engineer and Sr. Facilities Manager in maintaining, repairing, and operating all building systems and equipment efficiently. The engineer will perform routine operations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to maximize efficiency and lifespan. This includes systems like HVAC, boilers, refrigeration, water, and energy systems, ensuring safe and energy-efficient operation with minimal downtime. The position also involves inspecting and repairing interior and exterior property areas and adhering to ethical standards and company policies.

Key Relationships

External: interacts with the client, client staff, and vendors.Internal: interacts with the Assistant/Chief Engineer, Sr. Facilities Manager, and other C&W colleagues.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, lighting, and other systems.
  • Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building interior/exterior systems.
  • Perform major repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and more.
  • Conduct inspections and report on conditions affecting client operations.
  • Operate and repair boilers, pumps, valves, refrigerant systems, and building automation systems.
  • Maintain elevator systems, sewer systems, trash compactors, kitchen equipment, and other building facilities.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance programs and maintain inventory records.
  • Comply with safety codes, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain licenses, complete safety training, and adhere to dress code.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks like repairs on fixtures, lighting, furniture, and painting.
  • Manage company vehicle and ensure proper maintenance and documentation.
  • Perform maintenance in controlled environments, including underground locations.
  • Handle additional operational tasks as assigned.

    Requirements

    High School Diploma or GED required; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.Minimum 4 years of relevant technical experience in building systems.Valid driver's license; trade-specific licenses as required.EPA 608 certification for refrigerants.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, and electrical systems.Knowledge of energy management systems and building operations.Excellent interpersonal skills and basic computer proficiency.

    Physical and Environmental Conditions

    Work in office and building environments, with exposure to noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures. Physical activity required, including lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods. Ability to respond to emergencies and work flexible hours, including after-hours and weekends.
