We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Load Rating Engineer to join our New York City team. H&H is currently expanding its bridge inspection services to support client and project needs in the Structural/Transportation focus areas. This candidate will work with a team to provide bridge inspection load ratings for a diverse client base in the New York Metropolitan area.

We manage the entire project lifecycle, from study and planning to design and construction. Responsibilities
  • Perform load rating calculations (Level 1 and Level 2) supporting bridge inspection findings.
  • Collaborate with a team to manage load rating reports.
  • Conduct occasional field site visits.
  • Provide mentoring and training to junior staff.
  • Lead load rating efforts on major projects.
    • Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • PE License in NY required.
  • At least five years of Structural Engineering experience focusing on bridge design, inspection, and load ratings (preferred).
  • Completion of FHWA-approved bridge inspection training (e.g., NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges ).
  • Proficiency with AASHTOWare load rating software (preferred).
  • Experience with 3D Finite Element Analysis software (such as CSiBridge, SAP2000).
  • Experience with NYSDOT or local client base (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and detail-oriented approach.

    Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
