Independent Managing Director - Peregrine Search Solutions

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various litigation matters using tools such as Westlaw.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, legal correspondence, discovery requests, discovery responses and other legal documents.
  • Participate in depositions, court conferences and hearings, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
  • Review and interpret applicable laws, rulings, and regulations.
  • Manage all aspects of the discovery process, including document production, interrogatories, and exhibit organization.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and case file management.
  • Maintain client communications, provide legal advice, and offer regular updates on case progress.
  • Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses.
  • Attend client meetings and negotiate settlements when appropriate.
  • Other duties, projects and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York; admission in New Jersey is a plus.
  • 5–9+ years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
  • Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence rules, and experience in both state and federal courts.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

In performing the duties here in the employee is exposed to the below work environment conditions:

  • A fast-paced environment determined by projects to be completed.
  • Variances of noise and temperature.
  • Possible stress and mental fatigue due to the speed of the office tasks.
  • Continual periods where the employee is expected to sit for a long period of time when necessary.
  • This position is a hybrid position based out of our New York office, with 3 days required onsite inclusive of Mondays.
