We are seeking a dynamic and self-driven Linux Systems Administrator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and operations of both hardware and software within our environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Linux systems.
- Install and configure new servers according to standards and operational needs.
- Oversee installation and maintenance of operating systems, including patching and upgrades.
- Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot the Linux environment.
- Conduct daily monitoring of hardware, applications, key processes, and scheduled jobs.
- Ensure consistent backup operations follow established guidelines.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation for installation and configuration procedures.
- Regularly perform security monitoring of the Linux environment.
- Manage user accounts and access to systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of load balancing technologies, server farms, and web services.
- Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP, and TLS protocols.
- Technical knowledge and experience with Red Hat Linux, CentOS Linux, SUSE Linux, and Ubuntu Linux.
- Experience with virtualization technologies.
- Server configuration and automation using Ansible.
- Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, Perl, PowerShell, or similar languages.
- Knowledge of the OpenShift Container Platform.
- Intermediate familiarity with Windows Server systems.
- Experience in Kafka environments.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in Linux administration or a cloud operations role.
- A minimum of 3 years of scripting experience (Shell, Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.).
- Experience in managing and configuring Linux-based operating systems.
- Proficient in shell scripting, cron job management, user account handling, and log analysis.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats, including documentation.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment or independently.
