Linux Systems Administrator Responsibilities:

• Ensure hardware, OS, software, and procedures adhere to organizational policies.
• Perform security scans and resolve vulnerabilities.
• Hardening Linux systems, including OS patching, software patching, and anti-virus management.
• Assist in hardening Windows systems similarly.
• Install and configure routers, firewalls, and network switches, including routing and managing Access Control Lists.

Required Experience/Skills:

• 5+ years experience with BS/BA; 3+ years with MS/MA; no experience required with PhD.
• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI.
• US Citizenship.
• Experience with Linux FIPS mode, full disk encryption (LUKS / Tang / Clevis).
• Knowledge of STIG, ACAS, OpenSCAP, STIGviewer.
• Creating patch repositories and managing updates quarterly.
• Bash scripting, user profiles, secure login policies.
• Active Directory authentication (SSSD, Realm, Samba).
• Mounting NTFS and NFS drives.
• VMware Virtualization with Horizon View and VCenter Administration.
• Familiarity with CUDA and GPU installations.
• Experience with Red Hat Rocky, Ubuntu, Red Hat RT.

Certification Requirements:

• At least one DoD 8140/8570 IAT-I or IAT-II Baseline Certification: Network+ or Security+.
• One computing environment certification such as RHEL, RHSA, Linux+, or LPIC.
