Job Number: 114 Job Category: GovTech Job Title: LINUX SYSTEM ENGINEER II - MARYLAND -URGENT Job Type: Full-time Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI - Full Scope Polygraph Work Arrangement: On-site Job Location: Fort Meade MD Salary: 220K Background * Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications* Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches and conducts feasibility studies* Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology* Incorporates new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations* Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination* Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as system engineering plans, initial capabilities documents, requirements specifications, and interface control documents* Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components Requirements * Bachelor's degree plus Fourteen (14) years of professional experience* Nineteen (19) years of relevant experience is acceptable if candidate does not possess a degree* Linux system administration background* Knowledge of physical and virtual servers (rack/stack, network, build, deploy, etc.) and log aggregation applications Preferred * Skills in Elasticsearch/Splunk, Syslog/NxLog, Nagios or other similar monitoring applications* Scripting experience (Python/Perl)* CompTIA Security+ certification is required
