Linux System Administrator - SAIC : Job Details

Description

SAIC has an immediate need for a Linux System Administrator to support our Army and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) customers and the STARS team in Huntsville, AL/Redstone Arsenal.

Responsibilities:

• Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of RHEL operating systems and software applications

• Apply patches and upgrades to ensure systems are current and protected against known vulnerabilities

• Integrating network services such as: group policy, drive shares, data backup and account management for Linux systems

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to meet user requirements on all assigned systems

• Perform network and hardware installation, upgrades, replacement and maintenance

• Maintain Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) compliance

• Support Cybersecurity team requirements to include artifact generation, and tool support

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree

Required Clearance:

• An Active Secret Security Clearance

Required Certification:

• DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 Computing Environment (CE) Certification in an approved Linux discipline required and must be maintained

• CompTIA Security+ Certification required and must be maintained

Required Skills:

• Experience as a System Administrator or similar role in Linux Environments

• Demonstrate a disciplined approach to systems administration

• Disciplined experience in developing system documentation

• Self-motivated, possess strong oral and written communication skills

• Ability work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, technically advanced team environment
